Cummins are now recruiting for our 2020 intake of 12 month placements in the UK, which provide a meaningful opportunity for university students to accomplish real-world projects in a professional environment.

The responsibilities of this role include :-

Applies basic knowledge of engineering principles andpractices to assigned tasks. Assist in developing technical specifications, assist in implementing designs, and to deliver high performance, low-cost equipment or system results integrated with customers’ products. Interfaces with sales, manufacturing, and marketing teams to design and deliver solutions.

  1. Maintaining SOP (Start of Production) time line on new Aftertreatment Applications.
  2. Review New designs of Aftertreatment Applications both in the UK and Europe.
  3. Supporting Customer Engineering within CES and Engine Business.
  4. Leading/supporting Aftertreatment testing at Customers site. (as and when required)
  5. Working closely with engine business current product and customer support teams.
  6. Working with engineering functional experts depending on the project.
  7. Process Improvements.
  8. Leads small projects or portions of large projects.
  9. Involvement in the placement student team community involvement team planning charity and local community support events.

Qualifications

  • Studying towards a MEng or BEng in a relevant Engineering Discipline
  • PC/Internet highly skilled.
  • High communication skills desired.
  • Be self-motivated.

  • Detailed understanding of aftertreatment architecture, each catalysts function and controls.

  • Applies engineering and/or scientific skills to technical processes with support from experienced team members.
  • Participates as a team member, helps define/refine methods and actively contributes towards team goals.
  • Presentation and communication skills.
  • Tools and skills specific to the role.
  • Demonstrates good understanding and applies knowledge of an engineering discipline.
