Young Graduate Trainee for Health, Safety and Environmental Certification Support

This post is classified F1.

Location

ECSAT, Harwell, United Kingdom

Our team and mission

At ESA’s newest centre ECSAT, the Estates & Facilities Management Service is responsible for the management and operation of the Centre’s modern site infrastructures, management of contracted FM services and provision of specialist support to internal customers. A significant development activity for a conference facility is currently underway. With a small team, we are managing a complex portfolio of activities comprising construction, operations and maintenance of technical facilities, offices and common areas, utilities provision, catering, cleaning, logistics, security services, travel management and videoconferencing. We contribute to the identification and promotion of best practices in the provision of technical facilities and office accommodation and help to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and ESA policies in a wide range of domains including physical security, health & safety management, fire prevention, environmental management, sustainability, crisis management and business continuity.

Candidates interested are encouraged to visit the ESA website: www.esa.int/ESA

Field(s) of activity

In support of the sustainability re-certification (BREEAM, others) of the current ECSAT facilities and preparation of initial certification of the ECSAT new conference facility, you as a YGT will collect, consolidate and process relevant input data in preparation for the assessment.

You will support:

  • re-validation, documentation and fine-tuning of the processes and performance parameters to ensure the best possible outcome;
  • further improvement of the Centre’s sustainability and operations performance, following certification;
  • the introduction, monitoring and enhancement of Key Performance Indicators, their documentation and reporting, and Facility Management’s key internal benchmarking between ESA centres;
  • ISO certification for health & safety and other domains in accordance with applicable ESA and ISO Quality Management Standards, considered best practice by leading R&D organisations with which ESA benchmarks.
