We have an exciting opportunity for a Womenswear Design Intern to join the Womenswear Design Team on a 3 month expense paid placement, from January to March 2020, at our Central London Head Office. As an intern you will have the opportunity to gain commercial awareness and experience of real-life working practices in the fashion retail industry!

The Role

As our Womenswear Design Intern, you will assist the Womenswear Design team across all categories – Soft Woven/Outerwear & Tailoring/Knitwear. You will gain knowledge of the design process from start to finish by working alongside Technical, Product Development, Buying and Merchandising teams.

Responsibilities of our Womenswear Design Intern will include:

  • Assist our Womenswear Design Team with admin support, managing expenses and help to meet deadlines
  • Contribute to fabric/trim sourcing and colour palettes
  • Research trends and fabrics for awareness of key competitors, product offerings and price points to highlight opportunities to the Womenswear Design Team
  • Create and update design boards
  • Organising garment/fabric samples to ensure they are kept tidy and easily accessible
  • Keep up to date with best and worst sellers and overall season performance so the team can take this into consideration when creating new season designs

Our Womenswear Design Intern will have the following skills and experience:

  • In the process of completing a Fashion Design degree is essential
  • Great communication skills - written & verbal
  • CAD skills and familiarity with Photoshop/Illustrator is preferable
  • Strong fabric knowledge
  • Clear understanding of garment construction
  • Team player
  • Confident, efficient and highly organised
  • Excellent eye for detail
