What are we looking for?

We are looking for a motivated, individual who would thrive in a fast paced working environment to join our HR and Operations team as the Risk, Safety and Resilience Management Intern.

This includes:

  • Supporting the operational implementation and management of Health & Safety and Business Continuity initiatives.
  • Ensuring that all policies and regulations, as well as local laws, concerning Occupational Safety and Business Continuity are implemented and being adhered to.
  • Support maintaining a culture of Safety and Resilience compliance, responsibility and awareness at all sites
  • Analysing and communicating KPIs/management information/trend information to key Group Manager
  • Providing day to day support to the Group Manager, Safety Officer and Coordinator
  • Supporting committee groups for H&S, Business Continuity/Resilience
  • Building partnership relationships with key stakeholders (Internal)
  • Visiting each site and the different operational areas, minimum quarterly; to ensure departmental visibility and assist in providing more regular written/verbal communications
  • Undertaking local audits and inspections in respect of Health and Safety and Business Continuity/Emergency Planning.
  • Providing analysis data on management information and identify trends.
  • Conducting, where appropriate, all H&S responsibilities in line with current legislation
  • Providing standardisation of abbreviations and process documentation across the business
  • Ensuring corporate abbreviations and distribution groups are correctly used and allocated throughout the organization

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will be resourceful, an effective communicator and able to demonstrate their ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines; they will also be working towards or have recently graduated with a 2:1 Bachelor’s degree in a Business Management related topic, specialising in areas such as: Business Resilience/ Risk/ Emergency Planning/ Disaster Management or similar areas.

You will also have experience:

  • Delegating tasks effectively and following up on actions plans
  • Internal audits
  • Working with a number of different, complex tasks simultaneously
  • Assessing situations, recognizing difficulties and determining the action needed to achieve a successful outcome
  • Experience of standards in occupational safety
  • Competent MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Commercially focused, with the ability to initiate and drive a continually improving safety culture
