Our Head Office is at the very centre of everything Aldi. Which is why we won’t waste any of your time. You’ll get an amazing introduction to our business, packed with world-class training. And you’ll have a mentor to support you throughout. Then, you’ll get immersed in at least one project, making decisions that will have a real impact on our business. There aren’t many students who can go back to university saying that.

eCommerce

Proactive, switched-on, insightful. That’s you. You know what’s going on in the digital marketplace and you’re fascinated by the latest ventures and cutting-edge thinking. We’re embarking on the best kind of journey; one that will see Aldi doing great things our way. This is the store that never closes. More products are being added all the time. We know more than ever before about what our customers want from us. And we love to question everything.

With rotations and mini-projects, you’ll get a fantastic, well-rounded view of an online business. There’s the technology side of things (how can we design and build new functionality for the website?); customer insights (particularly using analytics to drill down into customer detail); online trading (how can we maximise the commercial performance of the site on any given day or time of year such as Christmas?) and content (which is really beneficial for anyone who’s doing a marketing or visual degree). This placement offers a great structure that will give you a rare view of our world and every opportunity you need to progress.

You’ll impress us by how much you’ve researched Aldi and the marketplace and this will shine through in the interview. A relevant degree is handy, but it’s your curiosity and passion that will really stand you in good stead. After the placement, your new-found digital skills will be transferable across any organisation. (If we haven’t snapped you up, that is).

Global Business Coordination

The Global Business Coordination team plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the IT and Commercial sides of the business, ensuring a collaborative approach is employed in defining how technology can help us to craft “Everyday Amazing” Customer Experiences and shape Aldi’s future. Working across the international business with exciting opportunities to travel, you’ll be helping to lead multiple digitally focused projects to improve customer experiences, internal processes and systems, and deliver improvements across the areas of Marketing, Customer Service, eCommerce and Digital Content.

Depending on your area of interest and your choice of degree, you’ll have exposure to various areas within the department, which include global strategy development & implementation, training & testing, processes & planning as well as technology development & standards. You’ll gain valuable project management skills and build strong stakeholder relationships in a fast paced environment where two days are never the same. This, combined with working for one of the leading global retailers, is an opportunity not to be missed.

Who we're looking for

With incredible training and the chance to get stuck into real projects, a Head Office Industrial Placement is more than just an experience - it's a real job with actual responsibilities. And it can be hard work. Which is why we look for people who like to take on a challenge, and enjoy exceeding expectations. Everyone is different at Aldi. It's what makes it work. But we also share some amazing traits. It's about never giving up; always striving for smarter and simpler ways of doing things.

You'll need a minimum of:

  • 96 UCAS points or 63 Scottish Highers (or the equivalent on the old tariff) from your top 3 A-Levels/Scottish Highers (or the equivalent from other relevant qualifications)
  • Working towards 2:1 in any degree discipline
  • UK driving licence
  • The right to work in the UK

Aldi is one of the most reputable retailers in the global business market today. Our goal has always been very simple: to provide great value and quality, using leaner and smarter business processes.
