Are you a (graduate) student, passionate about history and heritage and looking for an experience in an international environment?

Since 2008 the Heineken Collection Foundation manages the rich historical heritage of HEINEKEN NV. The purpose of the Heineken Collection is to preserve, manage, acquire and present the diverse collection in photography, audio/video, documentation and archives, advertising, brewing- and beer related objects and art. These collections tell the history of the HEINEKEN company and its affiliated breweries

The intern digital support Heineken Collection Foundation will support the staff of the Heineken Collection Foundation in the day-to-day management of the digital collection and participate in creating opportunities for its future use. General support for the management of the physical collection is also part of the internship.

The internship is based in Amsterdam and available per 27 January for the duration of 4 months.

Please note that all interns must be enrolled at a university for the entire duration of the internship. You will need to provide a proof of enrolment with your application. Applications without this will not be considered.

Your responsibilities

In this internship you will be responsible for:

  • Enriching the files in the digital collection by adding metadata (Description, tags, etc.)
  • Handle download requests for use of files from the digital collection
  • Connecting the physical objects to the digital collection
  • Using the digital for internal communication (i.e. posting on Workplace)
  • Website analysis (visitor behaviour and advice for improvements)
  • Support the other collection specialists

Your profile

You are a student in a relevant field of study and you have the following:

  • Ability to prioritize and to work in a structured way on projects and individually
  • Exceptional team player capability and eagerness to learn, share knowledge
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English: written, spoken and interpersonal
  • A pragmatic approach with a can-do mentality
  • Knowledge of TMS (The Museum System) collection registration system
  • Knowledge of DAM (Digital Asset Management) systems
  • Knowledge of conservation and handling of historical objects
