Key Accountabilities

Planning

Account planning is an important part of the manager’s role, adhering to set overall revenue and profit targets for each account set by the Head of Sales. You will identify retail groups or individual branches where there are opportunities to increase sales of existing products. You will also highlight opportunities to win business where retailers currently stock competitors’ products.

Relationship Management

You will build strong relationships with retailers’ purchasing teams. In large retail groups, you will deal buyers who are responsible for product categories, such as fresh foods, healthy eating / snacking, weight loss etc. In smaller retailers, your contact will be a purchasing manager or the store manager or owner. You will meet with buyers to update them on issues such as new products, promotional campaigns or joint marketing programs. You will discuss the retailers’ stock and delivery requirements and negotiate prices and discounts.

Internal Coordination

As the Retail Account Manager for Body & Fit, you are part of a larger team supporting retail customers. You will work closely with sales administrators, customer service executives and managers of other departments such as logistics and accounting to ensure that retailers receive a high standard of service. You will maintain up-to-date records of retailers’ orders, deliveries and returns so that they can deal promptly with any inquiries or issues raised by retailers.

Business Development

You will provide funds to the retailer to advertise or display our products, (budget provided by Head of Sales) and/ or you will provide templates for marketing material that retailers can customise. You will plan special promotions in retail outlets to coincide with our own advertising and marketing campaigns. To encourage retailers to participate in promotions or to increase stock during campaign periods, you will develop incentive programs.

About You

• Fluency in Dutch and English

• A successful track record as an Account Manager in the retail industry

• Experience in the fitness or nutrition industry as an Account Manager would be advantageous

• A solid understanding of an online business model, advertising and marketing

• Strong financial acumen with budgeting experience

• Strong inter-personal skills

• You enjoy working in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment

This position has the ability to work from our Amsterdam office and will require regular travel to our office in Heerenveen.
