Responsibilities :

Working within the Health and Safety team, the student will be a highly active member of the team working as a Safety and Ergonomics Placement Student.

Placement student duties will involve:

  • Assisting with the application of engineering and administrative controls to reduce the ergonomic impacts associated with site operations.
  • Supports the collect of site safety and ergonomic KPI’s.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the site Safety Management System.
  • Supports regulatory compliance efforts including management of Vibration, Industrial Hygiene programme ,employee training, reporting and other associated programs.
  • Monitors the day-to-day operations associated with ergonomic incidents , collating both site and global BU ergonomic data .
  • Assists with internal and external safety audits and identify and resolve basic issues.
  • Routine functions may include conducting and participating in ; Ergonomic assessments, line Risk Assessments and incident investigations.
  • Ongoing project work split between Daventry and other Business Unit programme work

Qualifications

  • Study of an applicable Occupational Health and Safety, Human Factors and Ergonomics, or other associated degrees
  • Excellent computing skills; Experience with Microsoft Office desirable
  • Good team working, communication and task prioritisation.

Training provided:

  • On the job specific H and S training
  • Student Development Programme throughout 12 month period
  • 1:1 Managerial support
