The Lean Certification Curriculum Manager takes lead responsibility for Aerospace in managing the delivery of our Lean Training Curriculum and Certification program for all employees in line with business requirements.

The Lean Certification Curriculum Manager will have responsibility for the strategic and operational elements of the Lean training curriculum and certification program within the Lean Academy group.

The Lean Training Curriculum and Certification Program is a structured multi-level approach to development that is available to all employees with levels linked to employee role profiles. Working with the VP of the Lean Academy and others within the Lean Centre of Excellence, they will monitor and analyse our Lean training needs at an organisational, team and individual level, coordinating the development of training materials and tools, and executing plans using the Lean Training and Curriculum Program to drive Lean knowledge and capability development across the organisation.

Job Responsibilities & Qualifications

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Curriculum for the Lean Training and Certification Program including curriculum reviews, topic and material change/improvements/additions, build and maintenance of curriculum in the HR systems Learning and Development Module, participant feedback.
  • Certification Administration to track and ensure qualifications are properly met and certifications awarded.
  • Manage the Lean Academy SharePoint site in all aspects for Body of Knowledge access in including permission rights, features, documents storage configuration, document tagging and accessibility.
  • Reporting and analysis of training achievement and status indicator measures.
  • Forecasting of needs and planning of the different activities and respective volumes, planning of training and other program related events.
  • Scheduling of training and other program related events using HR IT systems
  • Learning and Development where appropriate to ease administration and ensure integrated data capture.
  • Work with/Coordinate with external bodies, such as certification organisation(s), training material creators, venues to provide services in support of program structure and events.
  • Travel to other sites within the GKN Aerospace Division (UK and overseas), in accordance with job requirements. 15% travel – mostly regional, occasionally global.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Planning and organisational skills, practical, pragmatic and a strong ‘completer finisher’.
  • The ability to think strategically and turn strategic plans into operational and practical reality.
  • Coordinate and help in development of innovative training solutions and materials.
  • Excellent Excel capabilities in order to track, measure and report on training and certification statistics and measurement of training activity.
  • The ability to prepare high quality reports, presentations and information for leadership.
  • Computer literate – Excel, power point, work and applicant tracking systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills, articulate and confident.
  • A self-starter, a flexible thinker and able to move freely between conceptual and detailed issues.
  • Ability to hit the ground running and work autonomously with a proactive approach and a can-do attitude.
  • Leadership and motivation.
  • Practical, analytical, good problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of connection of Learning & Development (L&D) to the employee journey and passionate about all things L&D.
  • Highly credible and engaging with the ability to form excellent working relationships with leaders and senior managers.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the business with all stakeholders and influence people across the businesses with strong problem solving and facilitation skills.

Desirable

  • Degree in Business or Equivalent Experience.
  • Knowledge of the Human Resource IT systems particularly Learning and Development Modules.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment with exposure to a Lean Operating Model / Business System.
  • Lean Certification from a recognized Industry accreditation agency or company program.
  • Experience with administration of Lean or Sigma Training programs.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • GKN or GKN Aerospace Experience.
  • Good at Networking and familiarity with Social Media tools.
