GKN Fokker Landing Gear is part of GKN Fokker Technologies and is active in the field of Landing Gear and related systems. This includes the design and development, production and assembly of complete Landing Gear systems, but also the repair and re-assembly of systems in use. Fokker Landing Gear is with her ± 250 employee’s active in the F16 Fighter Aircraft, the Apache Combat helicopter, the F35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, the multipurpose NH90 Helicopter and the MQ-9 Drone. For a Dutch aviation company of this size we have a unique position in the JSF program in particular, acquired on the basis of our design and development capabilities. In addition, Fokker Landing Gear is involved for over 20 years in the development of technologies for the application of Polymer Matrix composite material on components of landing gears. Fokker Landing Gear has acquired a leading position in the market for landing gear technology and we are excellently positioned to contribute to the development of better, more sustainable and cheaper aircraft. About the department
The Manufacturing Engineer is part of the Industrialization team for a dedicated program. The team consists of around 10 specialists who work closely together with various colleagues on all levels throughout the entire organization.
About the position
As Manufacturing Engineer you define the most efficient manufacturing process for a dedicated product or assembly. In order to do so, you work closely with the process specialists for e.g. machining and surface treatment and the operations. As accurate as you are, you document the manufacturing concept in working instructions for operations and will support operations during introduction of these instructions. You as solving and analyzing Manufacturing Engineer define possible improvements in the manufacturing process and the original manufacturing concept in case the concept leads to a non-confirming product. The Manufacturing Engineer proposes rework activity (if required, together with the Customer) and provides Manufacturing Engineering related input during design reviews.
You have a Bachelor- or Master Degree in Aerospace- or Mechanical Engineering;You have a minimum of 6 year experience in a dynamic production environment of which a minimum of 3 year experience in the field of Manufacturing Engineering and related Production Technologies: NC-machining, assembly, measure methodologies, tolerance methodologies;If you have experience with CAD/CAM and ERP-systems, that would be a pre;You are analytical, quality conscious, pragmatic, motivated and a real problem solver;You have excellent communication skills and a result driven attitude;You have a structured way of working;You are fluent in Dutch and English language (verbal and written).
