TRAINEESHIP AT ADIDAS

The purpose of this traineeship is to provide the trainee with experience of the practical application of theoretical knowledge the traineeship student has already acquired at university and to acquire new skills and knowledge. This traineeship description contains tasks and responsibilities that will be learned step by step and the trainee will be accompanied by adidas employees at all times. adidas will ensure that the trainee is given tasks and responsibilities according to the level of competence of the trainee and any educational objectives for the traineeship period.

PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION

  • This traineeship is to support the development of the Europe Partner Program (marketplace business model), which is a new sales channel for our eCommerce business in Europe
  • The eCommerce Business Development trainee supports the expansion of the eCommerce Partner Program Business to new Partners / Retailers and supports their operational onboarding

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scoping of new Partners / Retailers that could be considered for Partner Program

  • Support in coordinating new Partner’s set-up in our internal system’s landscape together with IT: financial set-up, reporting, adaptation of Consumer Facing Documents, testing, etc.

  • Improving and maintaining internal processes to enable us to manage this business more efficiently

  • Documenting our business development approach: Translating business opportunities into business cases, process mappings and project timelines

  • Partner with Global IT program management team and eCommerce Global business solution team for solution assessment and effort estimation of projects

  • Driving preparation and communication of business reporting

  • Supporting the preparation of strategic business updates

  • Preparing handover to account managers once new partner is live

  • Work on multiple projects at the same time

  • EU Partner Program: Platform Operations, Business Analytics and Platform Trading

  • EU eCommerce team: Operations, Customer Service, Financial Services, Analytics

  • EU Supply Chain Management team

  • Partner’s Business / Technical teams

  • Finance

  • Legal

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Currently a Business or Marketing student at a university or other instance of higher education

  • Good organizational and planning skills

  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and business partners

  • Interest for technical and business eCommerce projects

  • Good communication skills

  • Good IT skills across all applications, especially Powerpoint

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Feel comfortable with working in an international environment

  • Fluent English is necessary; another European language would be beneficial
