Having successfully completed a technically-focused degree, our IT Graduate Programme is the perfect platform for experiencing global retail technologies and exploring new digital directions.

You’ll become a valued member of one of our Build or Product teams fulfilling a number of roles, developing innovative solutions and using Agile development practices. Partnering with functions across the business, you’ll be working with a variety of colleagues and discover a wealth of technical expertise and business knowledge.

In a business as diverse as ours, we’ll match you to a team that best suits your skills. You might find yourself in a team developing bespoke software that helps buyers strike great deals; or in data warehousing, developing analytics and data visualisation to help us make better decisions; or even one that configures the core enterprise systems that run our business.

Learning How To Run Our Business

The first few months provides an opportunity to get to know your team and understand how they work. Supported by experienced colleagues, you’ll be given real hands-on experience from the beginning – whether solving live issues, building automated tests or developing new features.

As part of your induction, you’re going to make a lot new discoveries about tech, but also about IT’s business role. We never lose sight of the bigger picture here! You’ll visit a store, one of our processing centres and work alongside colleagues who use your team’s products every day.

Delivering The Future

Once you’re settled in your technical role, you can start to grow your responsibilities. You’re here to get involved… and follow your team’s projects from initial concept, through to the delivery of the finished product.

On completion of the programme, you’ll be equipped with key skills and extensive understanding of how technology plays a vital part in our unique success. If you want to go onwards or upwards, there will be multiple opportunities to do exactly that, and we will support you in finding the role that’s right for you.

Skills You’ll Need

  • Computer Science or a related STEM degree (Science/Technology/Engineering/Maths)
  • A fascination for how technology drives business and enhances customer experience
  • Curiosity for identifying better ways of doing things and challenging the status quo
  • A truly collaborative mindset
  • We don’t mind if your forte is Python, HTML, Mobile, ERP apps, Database Tech, or Excel! What’s important is that you have a solid understanding of software, and a passion for using it to make a difference

European language skills – particularly German or Polish – are a real plus and if you’ve lived and worked in mainland Europe, even better. In a business like ours, all the above assets are great to have.

TK Maxx is an exciting place to work with a rapid pace, different challenges every day, and a unique culture of teamwork and collaboration.
Our way of operating means our people all have to be true collaborators and team players, thinking quickly, adapting to every situation and thriving on change. If you work for us, whatever job you do, every day is different, unexpected and exciting.
