We are recruiting Student Placements to join our Badminton and Volleyball team, which travels the globe working on the worlds biggest badminton and volleyball events (including the Olympics!). This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of sports technology, and be part of a dynamic team delivering world class tech solutions, designed to make tennis more engaging and fairer for the fans, players and broadcasters.

ABOUT OUR BADMINTON AND VOLLEYBALL TEAM »

The Badminton / Volleyball department is responsible for delivering Hawk-Eye technology across a wide range of Badminton, Volleyball and Beach Volleyball events. Major clients include the BWF and FIVB, with Hawk-Eye teams delivering services to both federations at over 100 events around the world every year.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES »

  • Responsible for the installation of Hawk-Eye technologies at major sporting events worldwide
  • Monitor and operate the system during the match
  • Work with match officials, responding to their requests for replays and quickly delivering them the best possible angles to make match changing decisions
  • Work with TV broadcast to provide in-depth match analysis
  • Research and development into new projects
  • Software performance analysis

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU »

  • A strong technical grounding, ideally studying a degree in a science, technology, mathematics or engineering course or similar
  • Bright and enterprising, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work on your own initiative
  • Time management skills and ability to work in a high pressure, live broadcast environment
  • Ability to liaise with clients and customers in a professional and approachable manner
  • Ideally, an interest in sport and/or sport analysis
  • A keen knowledge of any of the following sports would be preferable:
  • Volleyball, Badminton, Rugby, Hockey, Ice Hockey, Athletics, Baseball
  • Knowledge of additional languages would be beneficial
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Flexible and willing to travel worldwide.
