Service Delivery Coordinator

Location: Paddock Wood

35 hours

Contract: Permanent

Salary: GBP 19,276 - GBP 19,758 per annum

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the British Red Cross Ambulance Support Team.

You will co-ordinate a designated number of ambulance crews to enable and provide support to the staff and volunteers involved in delivering high quality care to patients, in partnership with the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) NHS Foundation Trust across the Trust area.

In this role you will have particular responsibility to provide administrative and practical support to the Ambulance Crews in Kent and Sussex and Surrey in support of the Ambulance Support Service Delivery Manager (SECAmb)

You will provide support to the Ambulance Support Service Delivery Manager and Ambulance Crew Team Leaders. The post is responsible for the day to day operation and deployment of the Red Cross Emergency Ambulances working under contract for SECAmb located within Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

Working closely with the Service Delivery Manager, other Ambulance Support coordinators, and Ambulance Crews to ensure that all operational ambulances are maintained at the highest standards.

Meet the team

We have a fleet of approximately 80 vehicles of varying specifications and we are constantly reviewing these to ensure that they are current and meet the requirements of our services and service users. Our fleet and equipment is comparable with those deployed by NHS services and we have recently introduced bariatric patient transport capability in to our services in Northern Ireland and the North East of England.

Ambulance Support services are delivered by around 140 full-time employed staff and a further 80 casual staff trained to provide patient transport, urgent, or emergency ambulance services as required operating from 15 bases across the UK. Our services are directly managed by dedicated teams led by Service Delivery managers supported by Co-ordinators and Team Leaders. A national leader ship team oversees our service performance, quality and development.

About the person

We are very interested in receiving applications from candidates who feel they meet the following criteria;

  • Full manual driving licence, with a maximum of 3 points
  • Knowledge of staff supervision. Experienced in managing a staff and volunteer team
  • A good working knowledge of spreadsheets, email, web-based and word processing software
  • Ability to work on own initiative or under instruction from others
  • Organisational skills - planning and monitoring own workload
  • Experience of delivering high quality services to the public
  • Fully participate in the Area 24 hour "On-Call" structure as appropriate, including taking part in a regular roster, and flexible approach to working hours
  • Able to work and travel extensively throughout the area on a regular basis as appropriate, and more widely in the UK as required
