THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen within TOPSHOP TOPMAN for a Digital Finance Manager. As seen in the wider retail market, multichannel Digital is an increasingly key strategic building block and differentiator for both brands.

There are currently many exciting strategic initiatives across our Digital channel which will not only impact our success online but are key drivers for our brand awareness and performance across other channels, including our Retail, Wholesale and Franchise business.

As we are investing heavily in developing our operations to support and promote a genuinely multichannel business the Digital Finance Manager will play an integral role in partnering with the Topshop Topman Digital teams across both brands, as well as working closely with the other Finance areas and central teams.

DAY TO DAY

  • Full ownership from a finance perspective of the Digital P&Ls for both brands including key Digital metrics such as site traffic and conversion as well as sales to contribution
  • Produce and circulate weekly financial reports to the Digital, Finance and Merchandising teams
  • Attend weekly trade meetings for both brands and gain an understanding of the key drivers behind digital performance and the upcoming trade plan & providing analysis and insight ahead of trading updates
  • Produce and oversee all areas of the Digital P&L for the monthly management accounts 
  • Support and challenge the TOPSHOP TOPMAN Digital team with sales forecasting, operational planning and cost control
  • Improve the monthly sales forecasting process to incorporate driven and non-driven marketing spend
  • Support the TOPSHOP TOPMAN Digital team with annual and seasonal planning processes – sales growth forecasting, budget setting and strategic goal setting
  • Produce the Digital elements of the TOPSHOP TOPMAN Corporate Plan
  • Provide ad hoc project and business case support to the TOPSHOP TOPMAN Digital team as they investigate new ideas and technology
  • Provide detailed scenario analysis to support the Digital trade team in their trade plan
  • Provide end to end analysis on key trade events, showing the true margin and contribution impact after customer returns and trade specific costs such as P&P can be reliably measured
  • Provide TOPSHOP TOPMAN specific KPIs and business models to assist central teams with Group wide initiatives/projects
  • Drive cost control best practices and ethos into the Digital teams
  • Work with Digital marketing to help understand split of spend, sales return on marketing spend, and how Digital marketing integrates into the brand strategy

MUST HAVES

  • Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA, with some experience of digital, retail or commercial finance roles preferable
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Office skills and adept at learning new systems
  • Capable of establishing strong working relationships and credibility with the senior management team
  • Strong analytical approach with a profit focused attitude
  • Confident to challenge and influence senior management, particularly in working with strong characters and a large number of stakeholders
  • Comfortable with ever-changing deadlines
  • Meticulous with detail whilst being able to see the bigger picture
  • Commercial with the ability to initiate change, generate ideas and self-start
