From the latest submarines and supercarriers to the UK’s first new nuclear power plant in over 20 years, we’ve secured some of the most extraordinary engineering projects. On this exciting programme you’ll continue that trend as you could be providing commercial support to elements of multi-million pound bids or existing contracts, or working with our business development teams to identify new opportunities within Babcock.

The Land sector generates revenue in excess of £1.6bn and employs close to 11,000 skilled personnel around the globe. Together, we provide vital support for civil and military customers’ large-scale fleets of vehicles and equipment; and we deliver high quality technical training to upskill our clients’ workforce. We operate in challenging, and often highly regulated environments, providing engineering services that are critical, complex and often bespoke. Our graduates have the opportunity to work across multiple industries in the sector, gaining valuable insight into how we help different customers to overcome their particular challenges.

OUR LOCATIONS

Whilst we have locations throughout the UK, graduates tend to be based in our Greater London, Midlands or Scottish locations, though you will need to be ready and willing to move to other sites throughout your programme.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Your placements could take you to any part of our business. You might be managing elements of multi-million pound bids, supporting commercial contracts including legal aspects, managing governance and compliance or spotting new opportunities across our Cavendish Nuclear, Land and Marine sectors. And once you have a handle on what we’re about and how we do things, you’ll specialise in an area that suits your strengths and ambitions.

WHAT YOU’LL GET OUT OF IT

It’s a really exciting time to do business at Babcock International Group. So many markets are seeing really interesting – and profitable – work being done. And on this programme, you’ll get a chance to experience some of them. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a competitive starting salary of £29k - £31k and our full support in getting accredited with a professional body.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll need a 2:2 (Hons) degree in Business, Economics, Law or another relevant subject. You’ll also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).

In addition to the above requirements, our businesses span across a number of UK and international contracts. Therefore, multilingual skills and international experience are hugely valuable to us. We are actively looking for candidates that are flexible and willing to undertake international placements – where applicable – and use their existing language skills to add value to our organisation. Being able to work with and amongst different cultures and backgrounds is vitally important within our organisation, so please ensure that any language or international experience is highlighted within your CV and application form.
