Warehouse Technician - Community Equipment Services

Location: Sheffield

Permanent

37.5 hours per week

Salary: GBP 16,009 per annum

Could you support our Community Equipment warehouse team by making sure equipment is received, recorded, cleaned and maintained, ready for distribution?

We have a vacancy for a Warehouse technician who will support the Community Equipment Service (CES) team based in Sheffield.

You will ensure stock is reconciled and stored, using the 'ELMS' system and scanners and relevant systems, documentation and procedural requirements updated as necessary.

You will carry out repairs and adjustments of quality control inspected equipment and ensure that all equipment is thoroughly cleaned within the infection control protocol, transferred to the warehouse.

You will offer general assistance to the team to contribute to the efficient operation of the Department.

About the team

We provide equipment services to people with long term needs to allow them to continue to live independently in their own homes with dignity.

Community Equipment Services (CES) is a social enterprise within British Red Cross which enters into commercial contracts with Local Authorities and the NHS to fulfil their statutory duty to supply eligible people with medical equipment which supports them to live independently in the community.

This role might be for you if

  • You're a people person; you've got good written and oral communication skills and the ability able to work well with the team supporting members of the public
  • You're organised and can prioritise your workload or experienced in stores/ warehousing
  • You've got a basic level of computer literacy, with ability to learn how to operate an online stock management system
  • You have a good level of general fitness, (you can lift and handle equipment weighing up to 21kg)
