Purpose of role

To support the Group Accountant, Group Financial & Sustainability Analyst and the Group Reporting team in the production of management and financial information for the Holding Company entities and of the consolidated group, Grosvenor Group Limited (the “Group”). They will be part of a small team which has wide-ranging responsibility for managing financial and sustainability-related reporting for the Group. The candidate will appreciate the need for accuracy and have good attention to detail. The role will have an exposure to both individual company accounting, non-financial reporting data and group consolidations, as well as interactions with senior executives.

Key responsibilities

Holding Companies

  • Production of monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and key general ledger accounts for review by the Group Accountant;
  • Preparation of quarterly cost centre reporting packs for review by the Group Accountant;
  • Assisting the Group Accountant in the preparation of cost centre budgets;
  • Attendance at quarterly budget review meetings with the Group Accountant and senior executives;
  • Preparation of VAT returns for corporate entities for review by the tax department; and assisting the tax department in the production of the annual corporation tax returns
  • Upkeep of the Group Technology fixed asset register and depreciation schedules;
  • Maintenance of the Group Technology general ledger to ensure accurate coding;
  • Preparation of accurate and timely Office of National Statistics reports;
  • Undertaking ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting, as required.

Group Reporting

  • Assisting the Group Reporting team in co-ordinating with the Operating Companies to ensure complete and timely reporting in accordance with relevant accounting standards & Group accounting policies and in line with the Group reporting timetable;
  • Assisting the Group Reporting team to draft commentary for the Group management accounts and budgets for Group Board review;
  • Contributing to the production of the Group Annual Report by the preparation of specific schedules (including property interests schedules), notes and draft commentary;
  • Responsible for data collection for competitor analysis;
  • Responsible for running opening balance reconciliations and monitoring the resolution of differences during quarter end reporting;
  • Responsible for running intercompany balance reconciliations (including debtors/creditors, P&L accounts, dividends) and monitoring the resolution of differences during quarter end reporting;
  • Preparation of accurate and timely Office of National Statistics reports;
  • Undertaking ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting, as required.

Systems

  • Responsible for the input of foreign exchange rates from the treasury management system into the group consolidation system on a monthly basis;
  • Responsible for the updating of the company structure within the group consolidation system in line with user requests, for review by the Group Accountant;
  • Assisting with scheduled upgrades of the consolidation system by performing reconciliations of data between test and live databases, as required.

Key relationships

The role will in the main work directly with the Group Reporting team but also requires building working relationships with finance, operational and other support function teams across the whole of the Grosvenor Group. Ongoing communication will be critical to success.
