Are you an aspiring design engineer looking to make a difference to the world around you? Do you want the chance to grow, learn, and be supported by industry leaders? This ever-changing world will be shaped by the buildings put into it; and we know it’s often the newest minds who have the brightest ideas.
The Role
These days, engineering is a lot more than pipes and wires; we look at the building as a whole and are involved in every stage, from initial client discussions right through to construction and even the building’s ongoing performance. We collaborate with colleagues, architects and other construction professionals, playing a critical role in every building’s design.
What can we offer you?
As a leading international firm of consulting engineers, we didn’t build a 150-year legacy by standing still. The built environment is where our design-led work can carve out a better future for the planet and its people. For us, it’s about putting heart, soul, innovation and sustainability into the buildings we work on. You will receive the best training and development through our Initial Professional Development scheme, which is accredited by all three of our governing bodies in the industry. We recently won the IET long running scheme award recognising 25 years of continuous accreditation. We are committed to the ongoing professional development of our graduates and support you towards achieving Chartered Engineer or incorporated Engineer status.
What could you be part of?

Façade Access is one of our specialist groups, providing expertise on all aspects of man access and material lifting for buildings using the best traditional and modern technologies for new, refurbished and occupied premises. As façades become ever more complex with overhangs, protrusions and non-vertical lines, maintenance becomes an increasingly more challenging process. Our efficient maintenance and access designs provide the ideal solutions for complex projects.
What might you be doing?
As a graduate façade access design engineer, your day-to-day tasks will vary, as we’ll expose you to all aspects of our work so you can discover what suits you. You could produce detailed designs and drawings, use the latest computer modelling software, undertake site surveys, or research technologies and systems. Communicating will span all of these, as we regularly liaise with project teams, meet clients or end users, and attend collaborative meetings.
Why does our work make a difference?
Our projects cover almost every sector – from healthcare, residential and retail, to defence, arts & heritage and education – ranging from small studies and reports to large-scale developments valued at more than £4billion.
