About the CUO Standard Team

The CUO Standard team has been established to bring simplicity and efficiency to our clients, intermediaries and colleagues. We believe that by creating standard products, we can meet many clients' and intermediaries' needs better, while also enabling true portfolio underwriting.

  • Customers will experience products that are consistent, easier to understand, and reliable
  • Intermediaries will experience a more reliable, predictable underwriting process that is easier to work with
  • Colleagues will experience a continuously improving, portfolio underwriting environment supported by greater analytics

About the Role

As an analyst in the EMEA Standard propositions team, you will be developing the propositions we bring to market in the EMEA region. You will be a key member of a team drawn from across all of those that touch the end to end experience. Together, we will design not only the Day 1 proposition, but also the continuous improvement steps to keep the proposition at the cutting edge.

Collaboration will be crucial. Your role will be to:

  • Articulating market demand, pain points and needs with underwriters, sales professionals and others
  • Propose a prioritization of potential change actions to our proposition end-to-end
  • Collaborating with the Head of Standard Propositions to develop our underlying Standard operating model
  • Designing the EMEA specific processes and technology of the future with Innovation, IT and Operations colleagues
  • Developing proposition relevant simple and understandable insurance products, tools and advanced models with product and actuarial / data science colleagues
  • Creating a true 360 degree view by involving colleagues from Claims, Finance and other areas

As a Proposition analyst, we are inviting you to think about continuously improving our proposition to the market – not just by changing the insurance product, but also the way in which everyone involved end-to-end delivers their responsibilities. You will be listening carefully to the feedback from all around you, and creatively finding the best way to trade-off different change options to get to the best result.

About You

  • You are someone who can conceive of pragmatic ways to take our vision to reality in the market. You can connect the work you do to the broader purpose of the Standard team – and you use that clarity to help prioritise the potential changes we could make. You enjoy tackling previously unsolved problems – confident that you will bring ideas to the table, and that you can bring the best ideas out of others as well.
  • You take on problems strategically in a structured way. You can do this at a high-level, and also engage in significant detail, to make sure ideas are realistic and pragmatic. You think about your areas of responsibility not just in terms of your own actions, but the end-to-end consequences and opportunities.
  • You communicate clearly and simply – even when dealing with complicated problems and ideas – and you do so both orally and in writing. When interacting with colleagues of every level of seniority and experience, you are empathetic and sensitive, and you adjust your communication style to meet the needs of others.
  • You understand, and can assess the quality of, complex quantitative analysis. This includes forecasting, descriptive and predictive analytics.
  • Primary insurance market experience is crucial, as you will bring your personal knowledge to bear. You will have an open-minded, intellectually curious approach to everything you do; and you are likely someone who is continually learning from a variety of sources.
  • Business fluency in English is needed. The role will require some travel, not expected to exceed 30%.
