A business thrives when it gets its numbers right! This position will be the key owner of all the relevant business metrics – both financial and non-financial, to help provide insight back to the business working alongside the web, trading, marketing and operational teams. The Finance Manager will also support the Body & Fit (B&F) General Manager and senior management team in a business partner capacity for all new markets.

Key Accountabilities

Business Strategy

  • Working closely with the CFO and the GM and as a key member of the B&F management team to plan, develop and implement business strategies which will grow the profitability of the business in line with the strategic plan.
  • Ability to think and work “big picture” but also be able to get into the detail

Leadership

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, developing and motivating the broader Finance team and promoting a culture of high performance and achievement
  • Drive the development of the Body & Fit culture across the business alongside fellow management team colleagues, aligning with the vision and values of Glanbia Performance Nutrition (GPN).
  • Ensure that strong finance relationships are maintained across the GPN Group, developing and maintaining high levels of collaboration with the Financial Controller and Shared Service team based in Dublin.
  • Play a key role in B&F’s Management Team, providing the role of “critical friend” to ensure that strategic objectives are met exploiting the maximum value while ensuring that robust controls and governance is in place.

Development

  • Support the achievement of the overall vision, leadership and direction to deliver the strategic objectives of the B&F business in terms of new markets, market share, margin and profitability.
  • Ensure best use of the systems (predominantly SAP) and data available, automating and streamlining reporting to provide best in class insight
  • Work to evolve the KPIs used in the business to ensure that they are both measuring and optimising the operational infrastructure and performance across the B&F business

Operational

Financial

  • Responsible for the financial reporting of the information reported for the geographies listed in the Role Overview
  • Develop and improve financial planning & business planning, weekly, monthly forecasting and performance review processes, ensuring forecasts are meaningful and emerging risks are identified in good time – using both financial and non-financial data.
  • To drive the quality of the financial outputs of the geographic divisions, ensuring key financial indicators including Revenue, Margin, Costs and EBITDA.
  • To drive the annual budgeting and intra year re-forecasting to ensure that emerging risks and opportunities are factored into the strategic horizon
  • Positive influencing and input to optimise deals, capital investments and supplier arrangements (stock and operational costs) working with the business senior leadership team
  • Provide strong financial review together with effective support for business cases, ensuring they provide clear evaluations and are financially robust
  • Ensure that B&F has best in class processes, fully aligned to support the operational and strategic development of the business.
  • Ensure that financial reporting is to the highest standards and that monthly accounts preparation and reporting are completed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the required high level of effective controls, given the scale and continued growth of the business, including expansion into further geographies.
  • Ensuring that there is both an appropriate financial control framework and effective financial accountability and responsibility across the division
  • Ensure full compliance with B&F management and statutory reporting requirements and deadlines, and GPN accounting policies.

Commercial

  • Drive profitability through timely and insightful management information and commercial analysis, making a strong commercial and operational contribution to the business.
  • Be the central owner of reporting all KPI’s of the business – helping drive the metrics in a timely manner to that management have the right insight at the right time.
  • Partner with the General Manager (and leadership team) to set the financial agenda of the business and play an active role in margin management and cost leadership
  • Support the drive for operational efficiencies, ensuring there is a relentless focus on operational efficiency and cost control.
  • Ensure effective management of working capital, with a key focus on optimal stock holding and ordering
  • • Engage with the CFO D2C on significant commercial and operational decisions impacting the financial performance of the business

Compliance and Regulatory

  • Responsible for financial, regulatory, commercial and tax compliance
  • Support the annual audit process across B&F operations, with a no surprises, a clean audit opinion and audit recommendations actioned.
  • Support embedding a risk culture throughout the division, ensuring risk mitigation strategies are actioned.

People

  • Work closely with the B&F leadership team, Manager of Finance and Financial Controller and Shared Service team in Dublin.
  • To be a driver and representative for a high calibre finance team operating as partners for the division and improving engagement.
  • Responsibility to generate a high level of financial awareness across the business, together with a good understanding across the division of financial imperatives, financial strategy and performance.

Technology

  • Ensuring optimal use of systems and driving a culture of “zero touch” and highly automated processes and activities
  • Drive best in class use of SAP and other relevant systems / applications to provide accurate, automated and efficient insight

About You

  • A dynamic, operational finance professional, with an outstanding commercial track record of achievement in a complex business of scale,
  • (Ideally online / plc environment).
  • A qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA minimum 3 years post qualified) with a strong academic background.
  • SAP experience (ideally Business Objects) and proven track record in automating data and best use of systems
  • Extensive experience using BI tools and being able to demonstrate turning data into value add analytics
  • Very strong commercial acumen with the ability to contribute directly to the overall business strategy and work with other members of the senior management team on their functional commercial issues.
  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to make a strong operational contribution to the business.
  • A track record in implementing best practice across all aspects including people, systems and processes.
  • Successful track record in leading, developing and motivating employees.

This position has the ability to work from our Amsterdam office and will require intermittent travel to our office in Heerenveen.
