We’re looking for Future Leaders in Product development and supply

Are you an organised graduate with the skills to turn pharmacologically active substances into life-changing medicines?

Join us in Product development and supply, and you’ll be part of a function that develops medicines from discovery through clinical trials and registration, to the factory and beyond. Our team of scientists and engineers also manages R&D supply chains to ensure that the right experimental medicines and discovery research compounds get to the right place at the right time.

What you do will be determined by the needs of our product pipeline and the role you are working towards. Because of the highly specialised nature of the science and engineering work that we do, Future Leaders programme roles in Product development and supply vary markedly between individual programmes. Roles range from Device engineer and Extractables and leachables scientist, to New imaging technologies development scientist to Process engineer.

"I’d worked hard to gain as much knowledge and experience as I could and I wanted to use this to make the biggest impact on society as possible and to build a more personally rewarding career, which I felt I could do with GSK."

Develop your leadership potential and career

If you’re a graduate with the talent and ambition to lead others, we’ll help you develop the expertise to become one of our Future Leaders.

Over three years, our Future Leaders graduate programme will challenge and support you to grow professionally and personally. You’ll have three stretching rotations which begin with 16 months in the role for which you were hired. You’ll then have two rotations (12 months and 8 months respectively) in two related technical areas, which could be within or outside the department. You will choose your second and third rotations during the previous rotations. These will be in the country where you are employed – and, ideally, they will fit both your career aspirations and the needs of the department.

You could choose placements in regulatory affairs, global manufacturing and supply, biopharmaceutical product development, drug design and selection, project management or another technical area that’s relevant to your department. To make the choice that’s best for you, you’ll need to network and explore different areas through development days.

Whichever areas you select, you’ll have the chance to build a range of skills, while enjoying mentoring and networking opportunities that are designed to help you excel.

Your career progression

We’ll tailor your training and development to suit your talents and ambition, as well as our business needs, setting you up for success in your chosen niche. After you complete our Future Leaders programme, you’ll have the skills to become a leader of the future. There’s no limit to how far you can go with us – it’s up to you to prove yourself.
