About the role:
We are currently recruiting an experienced and motivated Competency Adviser to join our Animal Welfare and Compliance team, here in our Research Support Facility. You will contribute to ensuring the animals within the RSF receive the highest level of care by assessing trained individuals for competence in accordance with the Animal (Scientific) Procedure Act.
In your role as Competency Adviser you will be involved in the coordination of the delivery of experimental work on animals, and support the Wellcome Sanger Institute in fulfilling all obligations under ASPA.
As a flexible employer part time and flexible working applications will be considered equally alongside full time applications.
Please be advised that our facility will be closing from September 2021, phasing out into 2022; this is due to the Institute's scientific strategy. We still need experienced Competency Advisers to ensure the highest level of care of our animals. If you would like more information on this, please contact recruit@sanger.ac.uk
Due to the closure, you will be eligible for a retention payment up to a maximum of £10,000 depending on start date.
