Job description

As a Graduate Intern at ORTEC you will optimize our routing solutions!

ORTEC offers several advanced planning solutions, e.g. to optimize routes, optimize employee schedules, optimize truck loads.

One of these solutions is a large client-server application that operates on-premises at many customers that use it. To optimize our development and delivery, steps are currently taken to gradually move the solution to the cloud, resulting in several web applications living in Microsoft Azure that connect to services on-premises at the customer.

Next step will be to break up the large solution into domains (a chunk of functionality with all the needed data) and move these one by one to the cloud as well. This step leads to the challenge where multiple domains, both on premises and in the cloud, need to be integrated to preserve the full power of our solution.

We would like you to help with our challenge. The assignment involves (possibly) the following topics

  • Research the possibilities for integrating domains on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Advice on ways to migrate customers and their data to the cloud in a secure way.
  • Create a prototype where multiple domains are connected
