The Team: Our Real-Time Data team is the part of our Technology team that delivers market data for millions of instruments traded in markets worldwide, representing a full range of asset classes. We supply this data both internally to Morningstar products and externally to clients, supporting the need for fast, reliable market information in a variety of formats and time intervals.

The Role: As a Quality Assurance Engineer you will be required to drive improvements in the current test process and be instrumental in playing a part in building the automation framework for use across the Global QA team. This dynamic team is part of an exciting and growing organization and reports to the Software Quality Assurance Manager. You will perform functional and non-functional tests on our software, participate in conformance tests, and contribute to the groups automation effort. The role will include analysing software requirements, executing tests against new system enhancements and creating manual and automated regression test scripts.

The QA engineer will need to maintain test plans and environments. Based in London we want the candidate to be capable and willing to challenge accepted practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing, writing, documenting and executing test plans/scripts.
  • Be instrumental in creating, designing and developing test scripts for automation test suites.
  • Identify, report and track bugs to closure.
  • Review, analyse and evaluate business critical changes and scope test requirements accordingly.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities and meet concurrent deadlines.
  • Communicate test results, as well as any errors or issues discovered during testing to testing, development and management teams.
  • Create and update release notes.
  • Build, maintain and support test environments.
  • Work with exchanges and third parties to ensure correct documentation is in place for future releases and assist in managing our documentation archive.
  • Ownership of designated work items and be pro-active in managing it end to end.
  • Accountable for all testing that requires sign off for production.
