Job Description

Start date: 6th July 2020

Location: London

Duration: 13 Months

To stay on top, Airbus recognises the importance of supporting high-achieving and talented undergraduates. We do this through offering challenging internship opportunities during which your skills and potential are fully maximised.

Our internships give a unique insight into potential career paths within Airbus. They are designed so that you can put your theoretical knowledge into practice and gain crucial industry experience. The skills and knowledge you gain will improve your chances of a future role within the Airbus and should benefit your future studies.

An exciting fast-paced internship within the UK Corporate Communications team of Airbus. The role is based in Central London but involves some travel to other Airbus sites in the UK as well as internationally. The internship will be for 13 months from July 6, 2020.

In this role, no two days are the same. In response to the ever-changing daily news agenda, which you will be expected to be aware of, you will be involved in a wide range of internal and external communications activities to help promote Airbus with its key stakeholders.

On any given day, the role may find you attending a conference on Urban Air Mobility, an exhibition on Cyber Security, or one of the world’s biggest Airshows, actively involved in putting the communications and social media plans that you helped to write into action. Most of your time will be spent in the London office, where you may find yourself dealing with national and regional media, liaising with our external Public Relations agency, or helping your Public Affairs colleagues organise a VIP visit to the UK.

The internship will give you a unique opportunity to learn in depth the role played by a strategic communications department in one of the world’s leading companies. It will allow you to further develop your skills and enhance your knowledge across a broad range of communications activities.

Tasks:

During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include;

  • Supporting the UK corporate communications team
  • Coordinating and monitoring communications activities and plans
  • Monitoring media requests for interviews
  • Reporting on communications activities and analysis of KPIs
  • Assisting with media activities, including writing press releases and managing the media
  • Assisting in the production and management of all appropriate UK corporate literature (including the Airbus in the UK brochure, fact sheets, and corporate briefing documents), as well as collateral and electronic media (including the Airbus in the UK internet site)
  • Supporting the creation and development of traditional and social media engagement plans for events and exhibitions
  • Assisting in the organisation of events, exhibitions and VIP visits
  • Assisting Marketing and Public Affairs colleagues in the implementation of effective communications campaigns
  • Monitoring and analysing media coverage
  • Research to support communications objectives
  • Effective and timely coordination with wider communications campaigns across the business
  • Assisting internal communications activities across the UK and more widely, if required
  • Day to day liaison with UK PR agency

Skills:

Please note, we love your interest in working for Airbus but we do ask that you make only one application. We encourage you to take time to decide which of our exciting opportunities is right for you and then submit an application that best represents you, your skills and experience in connection with the role you have selected.

One application: Make It Possible, Make It Happen, Make It … Count!
