Job Description
The Intel Networking and Custom Logic Group (NCLG) is looking for talented, highly motivated University students to develop embedded systems for Smart Factory applications, for example creating real-time networks to transfer data between devices, embedded control systems for motor drives or robots, or processing data from industrial cameras using neural networks.
You will be responsible for applying mathematical and system engineering skills to analyse architectures and safety aspects as part of a system engineering team. This will be followed by active design on demonstration hardware including FPGAs and other Intel devices. The completed demonstrations will be shown to customers and at international trade shows.
You will work in a rapid learning environment, alongside industry experts, who will support your daily development and knowledge growth. You will follow an Agile engineering development approach, communicating with your team daily to build innovative and creative products. Your opinions and thoughts are valued from day one.
Intel's office in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, houses around 80 employees and is walkable from Marlow station. Employees work hard but also play hard, with weekly badminton, indoor football, cycling and trail running activities.

Qualifications
This is usually a 13 month fixed-term placement (July 2020 - August 2021) suitable for students currently studying a degree course in relevant disciplines (e.g. Electronic Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering), and is targeted at 2nd year students enrolled in a 4 years bachelor's degree which includes a year in industry. However, applications from capable candidates in other University years or seeking alternative time periods will be considered.
Skills include:
System design, considering a number of elements working together
Knowledge of electronic hardware elements and interest in FPGA and System-on-Chip
Programming skills
Team worker with great communication skills
