The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) operates 72 homes and 16 extra care housing schemes across Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, West Sussex and Suffolk.

OSJCT provides high quality person centred care for older people including dementia, intermediate, respite and day care, and specialised nursing.

Its ethos of care, which underpins all its activities, is based on the belief that every resident living in its homes should be given care that meets their individual needs. It also believes that residents and day care visitors should enjoy life in an atmosphere of warmth, harmony and understanding, being cared for by people who appreciate their need for privacy and who will respect their dignity and freedom of choice.

OSJCT is a not-for-profit charitable trust which means any financial surplus is reinvested for the benefit of the residents.

Its primary charitable object is ‘the relief of the aged, the infirm and the sick’. This is underpinned by the Christian principles and ethos of its two sponsoring Orders - the Order of Malta and the Venerable Order of St John. Between them, these two Orders bring a combined total of over 1,000 years of experience in care, relief and service. Today, they provide OSJCT’s Trustees.

OSJCT employ approximately 4,000 staff and support more than 3,500 residents. The quality of its service has been accredited by the National Care Forum, through its "Quality First" framework.

It also works closely with Dementia UK and was among the first care providers to employ its own specialist Admiral Nurses.
