SALARY: £30,000 p.a.

Location: Magna Park

Job Purpose:

To carry out hardware and software configuration of networking equipment and computer systems made by a variety of vendors such as Cisco, HP, IBM, Lenovo, Linksys and others. Software & memory upgrades, System Cloning, Bespoke customizations as per customer requirements, Asset Tagging, PC & Server configurations are the key areas of the job.

Responsibilities:

  • Configuration of Desktops, Laptops and Servers of different builds and makes as per build instructions from the customer such as install or upgrade of OS, memory, CPU, PSU, network/graphic cards, RAID configuration etc.
  • Pre-shipment software & hardware configuration of Cisco & other networking equipment’s as per customer build requirements such as IOS/JUNOS upgrade, memory upgrade, installation of cards/modules etc.
  • QA testing of configured products and maintaining the relevant test logs.
  • Unpacking products for configuration, Repacking after configuration is complete, printing appropriate shipping labels & delivery notes for configured orders and shipping the products off the system using SAP system
  • Liaising with Internal and External customers and other stakeholders of the business.
  • Maintain accurate Config records as per business procedures and filing appropriate documentation.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in the department at all times
  • Maintain and timely update of daily KPI and other departmental reports

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to deal with non-technical warehousing tasks which form an essential part of the job e.g., un-packing, re-packing products, palletising, preparing for shipment, transferring completed orders to the relevant carriers and other admin tasks as deemed necessary
  • Ability to troubleshoot configuration related faults in a logical and systematic manner
  • Ability to listen and follow instructions
  • Ability to take initiative to improve level of productivity
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, while adhering to deadlines.
  • Good team player
  • Good communication skills are essential as the role involves regular communication with Sales, Logistics, Purchasing, Customers and Carriers
