To aid the UKPL Technical Pricing Team by providing actuarial services so as to contribute to the achievement of team objectives and to the provision of a high quality and cost effective service to customers

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of pricing and portfolio management solutions through data gathering, analysis and modelling, under the direction of the LOB Senior Pricing Analyst
  • Demonstrate increasing knowledge of relevant actuarial disciplines and procedures, including claim trend analysis and predictive modelling, to be able to provide first class service to external and internal customers
  • Regular reporting of key trends on either Motor or Home portfolios
  • Regular liaison with Personal Lines LOB Underwriting, Reserving, Claims and Finance teams in communicating and understanding key portfolio trends
  • Calculation and monitoring of technical price assumptions
  • Develop & maintain actuarial systems and incorporate efficiencies or improvements as required
  • Support project teams
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture

Your skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level. Ideally in Mathematics, Statistics or related degree.
  • A-Level Mathematics
  • Intern Actuarial work experience – desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of coding languages (eg, R, python, SQL, SAS) – desirable but not essential
