Pfizer Digital is structured into two key areas:

  • Pfizer Digital Client Partners who provide client-facing thought leadership and business application solutions; and
  • Pfizer Digital Centres of Creation who are responsible for delivering and supporting a broad range of IT services for our colleagues and partners around the world.

The role will report into Client Partner Lead, UK & Ireleand in the International Client Partner organisation. There will be frequent interactions with Pfizer colleagues, and as Pfizer works with many technology partners to develop and support our applications, it is likely that there will be significant interactions with our technology partners.

What can I achieve and what will I be responsible for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer?

Pfizer provides undergraduates with the opportunity to work with experts in the pharmaceutical industry and has a wealth of opportunities available across a variety of departments. Through working in a dynamic and fast-paced Pfizer Digital environment, undergraduates can look forward to learning new technologies, explore how they apply to pharmaceutical industry, develop business acumen, and work in a cross functional setting and experience being a valued team player. Skills that are important to this role and will be developed during the 12 month placement will include communication through liaising with colleagues and external partners, time management of and prioritisation of different requests.

What we are looking for?

We are looking for an undergraduate who wants to work in a technology focused Analytic team, dedicated to leveraging data and analytics to create a healthier world.

Day-to-day, you will work closely with Analytic Tools & Platforms colleagues across the team, including:

  • delivering (project management) data & analytic projects;
  • engineering (technical design) data & analytic solutions; and
  • supporting (support & operations) our current data & analytics solutions.

Do I have the skills?

You should be studying for a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics or similar degree, be on track for a 2:1 (or equivalent) or above with a passion for data and/or analytics. We are looking for undergraduates who can solve problems during ambiguity, work as a team, and can communicate effectively to stakeholders.

There will be plenty of opportunities to improve your skills over the 12 months as well as build your knowledge of technology and biopharmaceuticals for your future career. Finally, your industrial placement must be recognised or supported by your university.

Where will I be based?

The Pfizer Digital European team are predominately located near Tadworth, Surrey providing European IT services to Pfizer’s commercial business. Opened in 2002, the site houses around 800 employees, who work across the commercial businesses or in one of the business support functions (such as finance or HR).

For our Pfizer staff, bus services to/from the office from/to the following locations: Crawley, Dorking, Epsom, Leatherhead, Redhill, Reigate, Sutton & Tadworth.

When can I start?

Placements will start on 1st September 2020 and will run for 12 months.

  • Ability to take ownership of various tasks and work autonomously
  • High proficiency on MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Access)
