We have opportunities in the following areas:

  • Ecology & Biodiversity: Not only will you be working on a range of high-profile projects alongside our team of experts, but you’ll also be working closely with Natural England., the Environment Agency as well as local environment groups. From carrying out site surveys to assessments of ecological systems, you’ll have the chance to really get stuck in. You’ll be working within the environment, highways and buildings or infrastructure sectors. We have opportunities in the following locations: Birmingham, Brighton, Cambridge, Croydon, Cardiff & Southampton.
  • Environmental Consultancy: This is a varied and interesting role. With the projects that you work on, you’ll have the responsibility of assessing their effects on the environment while ensuring that they comply with UK and international environmental standards. You’ll be working within the energy, buildings and infrastructure or highways and environment sectors. We have opportunities in the following locations: Birmingham, Brighton. Cardiff & Norwich.
  • Air quality & Carbon Management: With this role comes a lot of responsibility. You will join our renewables team and offer a vital, specialised service to a number of high-profile UK and international schemes. The work that you will be involved in spans a range of our sectors. Our experts are involved in a variety of things from supporting with air planning assessments and reviewing processes to advising high profile lenders on current legislation, so there is always something exciting going on. We have opportunities in the following locations: Brighton
  • Contaminated Land: With a drive to develop brownfield sites and remediate former industrial landscapes you will be involved in some of the most exciting development projects in the UK, ensuring responsible and sustainable development and helping clients fulfil their obligations around their land quality. We have opportunities in the following locations: Cambridge and Croydon.
  • Heritage & Archaeology: You will join the Mott MacDonald heritage team help their clients manage change within the historic environment, whether that be advising clients on the strategies to avoid or investigate archaeological remains, negotiate appropriate changes to historic buildings, or help design developments within historic towns and cities. We have opportunities in the following locations: Cambridge
  • Landscape Architecture: Our award-winning landscape and urban design practice create memorable and site-specific landscapes for people and places. A key element in their approach is understanding the environment, its physical attributes and cultural context. This combined with embracing of innovative and informed design approaches, contributes to the creation of unique spaces on an international basis. Candidate Specification

We are looking for flexible and motivated graduates with a genuine passion for the environmental, as well as a desire to make a difference in the world. If this describes you, apply today to launch your career at Mott MacDonald.

To apply for this scheme, you will have less than 12 months experience and have achieved a 2:1 or above in one of the following degree disciplines:

  • Air Quality and Carbon Management
  • Climate Change/Resilience
  • Contaminated land consultancy
  • Environmental science
  • Environmental management and policy
  • Ecology and Biodiversity
  • Heritage and Archaeology
  • Landscape Architecture & Design
  • Sustainability
  • Earth Science

Additionally you will need to have studied or are studying for a masters degree.

You should be able to demonstrate your interest in your chosen sector through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

  • The ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail with the ability to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
