Want to help protect the private data of millions of people? The Product Security and Privacy team is responsible for driving security and privacy across all of the product teams within HubSpot. This is a new area of focus for product at HubSpot and the team is growing. The Product Security and Privacy team will be creating and updating the standards for secure development and privacy by design at HubSpot. This team will develop tools and monitoring that make it easy to implement these standards, put the customer first, and use good judgement around security and privacy issues.

We’ll be educating other developers on their responsibilities, best practices, and why security and privacy matter to our customers. We’ll be ensuring HubSpot can easily identify and protect all personal data. We will move forward through a combination of systems and policies, tools and automation, monitoring and testing. The team will also help respond to incidents relating to security and privacy and have operational responsibility for the systems we create.

We are looking for students who are interested in a software engineering internship that will specify in privacy. They will have the opportunity to work cross collaboratively with front- and back-end development teams, Legal, IT Security and Compliance, and Business Systems to ensure that together we have the right coverage across myriad security and privacy areas.

Curious if you're a good fit? Our teams are looking for students who:

  • are interested in REST APIs, Java, and public cloud environments.
  • are familiar with Privacy by Design principles and privacy regulations
  • have a passion for protecting personal information by building automated processes to support data privacy and protection best practices
  • Having an understanding of statistical analysis, de-identification and anonymization is a plus

At HubSpot, apps are owned and developed by small, autonomous, cross-functional teams. You and your team set the goals, set the timelines, build the software, go to user tests, and carry the pager.

Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. But we'll let you in on a secret: there's no such thing as the 'perfect' candidate. HubSpot is a place where everyone can grow. So however you identify and whatever background you bring with you, please apply if this is a role that would make you excited to come into work every day.
