WHAT TO EXPECT
The beautiful shapes, sweeping curves and luxurious styles of our vehicles would be nothing without the accuracy in the technical set up and attention to craftsmanship. As part of the Design Technical group, you’ll help to produce the flourishing finishes that grab attention wherever they’re seen, while working as part of one of our key teams: Surfacing, Studio Engineering or Cubing Engineering.
As part of our Surfacing team, you’ll create and deliver feasible a-class surface data that achieve design intent. Using clay scans, package data, Computer Aided Design (CAD) concepts and hard points, you’ll create and release a-class geometry to support engineering feasibility requirements and the final production release. It will be down to you to deliver best in class crafted optical quality solutions into new vehicle programmes and generate concept schemes using state of the art CAD systems.
The Studio Engineering team is a team of highly skilled whole vehicle engineers who manage the critical interactions between design, engineering and vehicle attribute teams. You will support the Design team in delivering creative technical solutions to achieve the design intent, while working alongside the designers throughout the full development phase. With your strong technical background and creative mindset, you’ll generate concept schemes using state of the art CAD systems.
In the Cubing team, you’ll deliver highly accurate, detailed physical 1:1 scale Data Control Models (DCM) within challenging time scales and budgets and manage the generation of a virtual model to support key business gateways. You’ll project manage the design, construction, delivery and reviews for these properties. These models are the key support for quality data sign off, ahead of production tool release so a business and engineering-focused acumen is useful.
As a successful graduate applicant you will have ongoing support, a development programme which will build key business capabilities and behaviours as well as insight into Jaguar land Rover and its ways of working, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced Designers who will guide and support your growth into becoming an experienced member of the JLR Design community. This will give you the foundations you require to help us imagine the next generation of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles and keep us at the forefront of automotive design.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED

To join our Surfacing, Studio Engineering or Cubing Engineering teams, you’ll need a degree in Design or Engineering at 2:2 level or higher.
