Creating the cars of tomorrow is a challenge around 40,000 passionate Jaguar Land Rover colleagues take on every day. The way cars are created and driven is changing. And we are leading that change. Our vision is for a cleaner, smarter, more connected world where autonomous, connected, electrified and shared vehicles will replace the environmentally impactful world of the internal combustion engine. Throughout our history we have always taken on the challenges of creating the most prestigious, sustainable and desirable cars.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Before any idea can become reality, our Studio Modelling team comprising of the Visualisation and Animation team and the Digital and Clay Modelling teams work with the Model Operations team to transform 2D visions and concepts into photo realistic stills or animations and feasible 3D properties.

As part of the Digital Modelling or Visualisation and Animation teams you’ll use your design awareness to create digital properties from design sketches or data and help create the solutions to specific or unique design problems. While those who join our Clay Modelling team will need good aesthetic judgement to develop 3D shapes for both our interior and exterior design clay properties.

As part of the Model Operations team you’ll take either the Studio Modelling early design data or production ready data and using your design and engineering awareness, and working with their Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM), 5 Axis, Rapid Prototype and Paint & Trim teams, develop and build full size world-class physical properties to support the design process.

As a successful graduate applicant you will have ongoing support, a development programme which will build key business capabilities and behaviours as well as insight into Jaguar Land Rover and its ways of working, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced designers who will guide and support your growth into becoming an experienced member of the JLR Design community. This will give you the foundations you require to help us imagine the next generation of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles and keep us at the forefront of automotive design.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Excellence runs throughout our entire business and we would expect you to be the same. So, as well as Design degree at 2:2 level or higher, or a Masters in Design, you’ll need a clear understanding of practical automotive design, engineering and model development.

To join our Digital Modelling team, you’ll also need awareness of software tools and programmes and excellent 3D spatial evaluation skills and to join the Clay Modelling or Model Operations team we will need to see good evidence of your physical modelling skills.

All applicants must upload a design portfolio to their application to be considered. This file must be no larger than 5MB

REWARDS AND BENEFITS

Your innovation and creativity will be challenged every day, as you develop a rigorous and commercially focused approach in your work. And, with on-going support from industry leading experts and continual learning opportunities, you’ll quickly realise that our programmes have been designed to be as inspiring as the pioneering vehicles you’ll help produce.

Whichever part of the business you join your hard work and contribution deserves recognition. You’ll receive a competitive salary of £29,000 per annum, a £2,000 joining bonus, along with a generous holiday allowance. There are a range of other benefits and regular social events so plenty of chances to make friends and have fun too.
