Creating the cars of tomorrow is a challenge around 40,000 passionate Jaguar Land Rover colleagues take on every day. The way cars are created and driven is changing. And we are leading that change. Our vision is for a cleaner, smarter, more connected world where autonomous, connected, electrified and shared vehicles will replace the environmentally impactful world of the internal combustion engine. Throughout our history we have always taken on the challenges of creating the most prestigious, sustainable and desirable cars.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Already admired in over 128 countries, with an ambitious plan for further sustainable, profitable growth, we’re an organisation with a truly global footprint and outlook.

You’ll be expected, from day one, to use your creative and commercial skills as you gain valuable insights across our departments, working with multi-stakeholders to make change and support sustainable, profitable growth.

We can’t solve every problem. So, we’ve focused on five places where major societal issues and Jaguar Land Rover’s distinctive capabilities meet.

Our 5 Responsible Business imperatives:

  • Embracing the Circular Economy - efficient resource consumption to do more with less
  • Advancing Environmental Innovation - reducing the environmental impact of our business
  • Creating Value Beyond Our Boundaries - positive supply chain & communities' contribution
  • Enhancing Education, Skills and Wellbeing - developing talent and diversity
  • Developing Technology for Good - innovating ways to address premium mobility issues

Surrounded by ongoing support from industry-leading experts, you’ll become an instrumental part of our business, supporting the organisation to ensure delivery of our imperatives.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Position us as a Responsible Business
  • Provide proof points to many of our corporate messages
  • Reaffirm our sustainability activity and messaging as a genuine strategic business priority
  • Positively engage our employees to continue their advocacy of the company
  • Broaden the scope and impact of our passion for Environmental Innovation.

There are several opportunities to join us with exposure to a wide range of responsibilities. You may help to deliver a new commercial proposition for closed loop materials or work with our environmental managers to deliver our understanding of our global footprint.

You’ll help find the appropriate way of valuing the work we do in society, through our retailers, suppliers and volunteering activities and you’ll use your experience to help develop education and skills programs targeting people just like you. Finally, you’ll bring your creative talents and technical thinking to solving problems through our technology.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Excellence runs throughout our business and we expect the same from you. Sharing our passion for putting customers first, you’ll have drive, determination and a willingness to learn. Due to the broad and varied nature of our department, we are willing to consider degrees in various disciplines, but we do ask that you are on track to achieve a 2:2 degree classification or higher.

What’s important to us is that you have a keen interest in responsible and sustainable business practises and an understanding of how they can impact corporate reputation.

You’ll have skills and knowledge that would identify you as being:

  • Analytical
  • Commercially and financially astute
  • Knowledgeable of process efficiency
  • Cognisant of business management including marketing and brand sponsorship
  • Innovative
  • Appreciative of social impact
  • Able to effectively engage and communicate.

Please be aware that our undergraduate placement opportunities are only open to penultimate year students (i.e. students who will be returning to their final year of study following their placement with us); or returning to university to study a Masters.

This undergraduate placement has a fixed start date commencing June 22, 2020 and will run for a duration of 12 months.

REWARDS AND BENEFITS

Your innovation and creativity will be challenged every day, as you develop a rigorous and commercially focused approach in your work. And, with on-going support from industry leading experts and continual learning opportunities, you’ll quickly realise that our programmes have been designed to be as inspiring as the pioneering vehicles you’ll help produce.

Whichever part of the business you join your hard work and contribution deserves recognition. You’ll receive a competitive salary of around £326 per week, or £17,000 per annum. For those on placements of longer than 3 months there is a generous holiday allowance. There are a range of other benefits and regular social events so plenty of chances to make friends and have fun too.
