Firmware Test Engineer

About the role

Apart of Imperial Brands, Nerudia has an exciting opportunity available for an enthusiastic Firmware Test Engineer to join our team in Liverpool.  You will support the design and development of next generation products required for the company`s ambitious innovation programme and growth plans. 

As a Firmware Test Engineer you will lead the work on embedded software development for products to deliver requirements agreed in project briefs which will include both functional performance and certification.

Offering a variety of innovative products from Vape to heated tobacco, to meet their differing needs will give the worlds smokers the best chance of switching for good. Combining our skills, market knowledge and creativity, we are developing the next-generation of products to give smokers the choice of something better.

What you will be doing

• Design and enhance automated test frameworks and test suites for Firmware products
• Work closely with Product and Developers to review feature requirements to plan for automated testing
• Design, document, and execute test procedures
• Perform testing of individual bug fixes and features on firmware deliverables
• Perform regression testing on firmware deliverables

Do you have

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Proven knowledge of Programming in Assembler and C, etc.
• Experience in writing for 8 to 32 bit Microcontrollers such as NXP, ST, Nordic, Dialog etc.
• Knowledge of statutory regulations and industry standards
• Good general knowledge of PCB layout and circuit design and discrete electronic components
• Experience of working in an Agile Software Development process
• Experience of version control systems
• Experience with BLE or other wireless protocols (Zigbee, Wi-Fi etc.) desirable although not essential
