Frontier’s communications practice advises regulators and companies globally across some of the most topical and high-profile policy, regulatory, competition and strategic issues of the day. In doing so, we help our clients navigate change driven by underlying advances in technology, market structure and consumer behaviour.

We are currently looking for exceptional candidates to join our comms practice to support our continuing growth. Applicants are required to have experience in the telecoms and media sectors which could be in a consultancy, regulator or an operator. Regulation and/or competition experience is desirable, however we will also consider applications from those who have gained broader experience in the sector.

From our offices in Europe the practice serves clients across the globe. Recent project includes:

  • Advising the UK government on how to stimulate investment in full fibre and 5G networks;
  • Advising the BBC on the market test for the iplayer; advising on the Vodafone-Unity Media merger in Germany; advising a telecoms operator on an Ofcom competition investigation;
  • Advising a European NRA on the economic benefits of spectrum; assisting a South African mobile operator in their response to government proposals for major reform of the telecoms sector;
  • Advising the regulator in Mexico on the break-up of Telmex into separate network and retail businesses.

We expect the successful candidate to have the ability to apply a range of microeconomics tools to telecoms issues. You should have a BSc with a focus on Economics and ideally a Masters level qualification. You will be able to communicate complex economic arguments in non-technical language, and to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues. Experience with cost/financial models in the telecoms sector and/or spectrum auctions would also be desirable though not essential.

We offer consultants unparalleled opportunities to develop, learning to manage projects and colleagues as well as building relationships with clients. You’ll be mentored and offered the opportunity to work closely with some of the brightest minds in the business. In addition to your project work, as a shareholder of the company you will be encouraged to contribute to the running of our firm.

We are offering a highly competitive salary package plus bonus and benefits, including the option for flexible working arrangements. The successful candidate will be based in our London office.

We help companies with their biggest challenges – market strategies, regulatory reviews, competition inquiries. And we help governments design innovative policies and regulatory systems.
