An opportunity has arisen for a Summer Internship within BAE Systems Engineering department to carry out a range of engineering based activities in a dynamic environment. This role will be based out of our site in Rochester.

What you will be doing… (Role Duties and Responsibilities)

As a Summer Intern within Systems engineering your main activities will involve:

  • Understanding our customers’ challenging needs and specifying their requirements
  • Developing complex system architectures and sub-systems to satisfy customer needs
  • Integrating electronic, mechanical, optical and software sub-systems to provide a fully operating system
  • Verifying that customer needs will be consistently satisfied

As a Summer Intern within Systems engineering your skills will ideally include:

  • Understand the multiple phases of the engineering lifecycle
  • Excellent problem solving
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude
  • Self-motivation
  • Be able to work cooperatively as part of a larger team

Entry Requirements and what we are looking for

To apply, you’ll need to be on course for achieving a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree. Accepted degrees: Systems Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering. Other Engineering or Physics degree would be considered where they have studied modules in these areas or similar.
