Job Mission

The Imaging EUV software group is responsible for the software of 3 Optical column Functional clustrer: Illumination, Reticle Masking (ReMa) and Projection (POB). Our software orchestrates the behavior of powerful mechatronics and optics modules, in tight collaboration with various Development & Engineering (D&E) and external experts and competences (optical, electronics, mechatronics, software, integration, etc).

To make sure that our developers deliver highest quality and "first time right" software, we are looking for an Architect to share the test strategy and test knowledge over 3 functional clusters, aiming for highest quality software, early bug finding and efficient and effective delivery.

In close collaboration with 3 Functional Cluster Architects, 3 Lead Testers and other group members (while staying independent in test domain), the job of Test Architect job gives you an opportunity to:

  • Get creative with Optical column software experts beyond the boundaries of our day-to-day projects.

Job Description

Your role is to define a test roadmap for the the whole Optical domain, including a strategy how to realize this roadmap.

The main tasks & responsibilities are:

  • Define a test strategy according to the department’s test strategy approach;

  • Adapt the test strategy to customer feedback/trends, ASML priorities and changes to the software design;

  • Anchor the test strategy within projects by performing an exemplary role within the context of projects and inspire and coach Lead testers and developers;

  • Participate in defining the simulation strategy to support efficient test execution in several environments;

  • Assist the Group Lead by performing software quality assessments and report the results in terms of coverage and remaining risks, including proposing improvement actions;

  • Review test related deliverables, observe automated regression test results, follow up actions, participate in patch hit analysis;

  • Develop test competence and contribute to continuous integration on department level;

  • In discussion with functional engineers, architects and developers, determine the impact of a deliverable to be able to define a smart test strategy;

  • Look at deliverables from a customer’s point-of-view.

Education

  • BSc / MSc / PdEng / PhD education level in Computer Science, Physics, Electronics, Mechanics, Mathematics or comparable;

  • ISTQB Foundation or T-Map Certificate;

  • ISTQB Advanced level is a pre.

Experience

  • Has work experience as a Test Architect;

  • Experience in testing high-tech systems, including non-functional testing;

  • Experience with embedded systems;

  • Experience in writing high level test plans on basis of requirements, design documents and implicit knowledge of people, experience in definition of test strategy;

  • Experience with programming/scripting/automation, like: C, C++, Unix (e.g. csh), Linux, Python;

  • Experience with version control (e.g. Clear Case, git), continuous integration, FMEA, test automation, stubs and mocks (e.g. Google Mock).

Personal skills

  • Strong communicative personality with good abstraction level, but also a pragmatic attitude;

  • Excellent co-operation skills;

  • Analytical skills, different levels of abstract thinking;

  • Likes to break the system;

  • Flexible and goal oriented, able to realize progress within an uncertain, rapidly changing environment;

  • Able to work under pressure, takes ownership and is decisive.

Other information

This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such U.S. controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with applicants who are immediately eligible to access U.S. controlled technology.
