To support our Restorative Therapies Group (RTG) within Cranial/ Brain Modulation department for the Central and Northern part of the Netherlands we are currently looking for a fulltime commercial and customer-oriented field Therapy Sales Specialist with excellent communication skills and natural ability to spot business opportunities. This is a great challenge for sales driven person with a strong commercial experience and relation management skills, an entrepreneurial spirit and healthcare or MedTech background. Fluency in Dutch and English is required.

A Day in the Life

We offer you a position where you present and sell Cranial Solutions such as Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) therapies, CSF management (shunts), other Enabling Cranial Technologies and services to our current and potential clients. This fulltime field Therapy Sales Specialist position is responsible for meeting or exceeding established program targets within a given geographical territory (half Netherlands- Central and North part)

The Deep Brain Stimulation and Cranial solutions portfolio is part of the Restorative Therapies Group (RTG) Cranial-Spinal Business unit and works within an innovative therapy environment like Parkinson disease, Epilepsy, Tumor management, Hydrocephalus management and other new areas. The Cranial solutions portfolio (i.e. Midas Rex power tools, NIM Eclipse, Navigation and O-arm disposables) are widely used around cranial procedures market. Also, this role requires an active role in promoting the Transformative Solutions (Advanced energy) portfolio.

To strengthen this team, we are looking for a Therapy Sales Specialist covering the half of the Netherlands with a focus on providing clinical case support in Operation Rooms to surgeons and nursing staff to top, develop and maintain accounts (DBS and EnablingTech). Driving commercial sales activities (upselling and cross-selling. The key targeted departments are neurosurgery, neurology and work with other relevant (non) clinical stakeholders (nurses, bio medical, managers etc.) You are able to communicate persuasively, demonstrate product knowledge, display knowledge of key customers, deliver customized presentations and organize events based on customer’s needs.

In this role you contribute to building strong relationships and customer loyalty.

You are responsible for managing business complexity, maintaining and developing the DBS and Cranial business with existing and new customers in your sales territory.

It will be your job to meet (or preferably exceed) financial and non-financial targets in a way that enhances Medtronic’s reputation in the market. In this commercial position you will fulfill a number of tasks in the field of sales management, ranging from market analyses and developing sales strategies to performing sales activities such as product introductions and support technical procedures when necessary.

You will identify and address all key decision makers, opinion leaders and referrals, extend existing accounts and develop entirely new ones. Building strong and lasting business relationships is another important task. Just as identifying and preparing upcoming tenders, market trends and competitor’s information.Furthermore, it will be your responsibility to train and educate relevant hospital staff, and to maintain and acquire knowledge on new product, technologies, markets, sales tools and processes.

In order to be successful in this role you should develop plans by selecting appropriate information, recognizing assumptions, developing hypotheses, and reaching valid conclusions. You will be responsible for identifying and reacting to potential threats and opportunities for the responsible port-folio.

We expect you to be result-focused and be able to set priorities, manage projects / initiatives in a timely fashion. You are able to develop plans by selecting appropriate information, recognizing assumptions, developing hypotheses, and reaching valid conclusions.

We expect you to have hands-on mentality with a sense of urgency and prove your project management abilities and people conflicts management. Lastly you are a strong communicator, team player with high integrity standards, you are charismatic and enthusiastic with positive thinking and a „can do “attitude.

Must Haves

• Bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Marketing, Business Administration, Biology or relevant

• Minimum of 3 years sales experience within the medical equipment industry or healthcare

• Fluency in Dutch and English

• Experience in training others

• Ability to work in a fast changing, demanding and highly matrixed business environment

• Understanding of the national (Dutch) / local health care system

• Knowledge of MS Office package

• Demonstrate business acumen and use this accordingly

• Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Nice to Haves

• Living in Central or North part of the Netherlands

• Good knowledge of neuro degenerative diseases (i.e. Parkinson)

• Experience in clinical neurology/ deep brain or neurology therapies

• Experience with Salesforce.com
