About the Role

We're looking for a People Operations Intern in Amsterdam to support our employee population in Amsterdam - someone who is passionate about finding ways to best support our growing Uber family. The People Operations Intern is primarily responsible for administration to support our employees and managers with basic inquiries and supporting continuous improvement of regional HR processes. During your internship you can explore all facets of HR and engage with the different specialist functions (e.g. Benefits, Compensation, People Development, Payroll, Legal Employment etc.)

The ideal candidate is self-driven, organized, and passionate about continually tinkering to make the overall process and experience better for all employees. A successful candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt as new priorities come up. Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail are key attributes in this role.

What you'll do:

  • Provide a high-level of support to employees by responding to questions and escalating issues as necessary through our ticketing system
  • Maintain and update data within our HR System, Workday, ensuring a high degree of accuracy
  • Coordinate the sick leave administration within our sick leave registration system
  • Coordinate verification of employment letter compliant with local legislation
  • Responsible for meeting local laws and regulation requirements such as background checks
  • Support the integrity of our data by running regular audits and reporting
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects within the People Operations Team and other administrative tasks as assigned (e.g. supporting in the readiness of offshoring HR activities to our HR Shared Service Center)

What you'll need:

  • Written and spoken fluency in Dutch and English is a must
  • Available full time October 2019 to February 2020
  • Working rights in the Netherlands
  • Bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in business/human resources/psychology
  • At least 1 prior internship
  • Passion for problem solving and technology
  • Strong customer service and administrative experience; technically savvy
  • Bonus points: Workday experience and/or experience from a ticketing system is a plus
