We are looking for a: Vaccines Medical Lead, preferably located in The Netherlands, Capelle aan den Ijssel, but other locations in the Nordics are optional. In this position you will be accountable for all Medical Plans and deliverables for Vaccines in this region and ensure that these plans are represented in the European and Global Medical Plans

In this position you will be accountable for delivery of the Medical and Strategy for the Vaccines, including all knowledge generating activities in the region. Want to be our key point of contact for subject matter queries from BOHs and critical KOLs and key contacts for Immunization Committees and Ministries of Health dealing with Immunization Programs in the region?

We might have your new position to offer, reporting into the Regional Medical and Scientific Affairs Lead Vaccines-Europe. In partnership with the regional Medical and Scientific Affairs Leads in Europe, as our new Vaccines Medical Lead, you will ensure that resources are utilized efficiently within the region. Other responsibilities:

  • Represent Pfizer Vaccines in key regional forums and meetings
  • Primary point of contact for scientific questions with regulatory authorities in the region
  • Key point of accountability for all inquiries and communication regarding the regional medical aspects
  • Responsible for the development of the annual operating plan, maintaining control of expenses, and identifying opportunities for cost effectiveness while maintaining efficiency and performance levels
  • Lead the team (Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxemburg, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark (Nordic region) in close alignment with business R=requirements, simplify processes to enhance information sharing, leverage initiatives across countries where appropriate
  • Responsible for the effective leadership of an engaged team of colleagues performing on an appropriate work environment and for the related training and development, performance management, succession planning, and human resources processes while ensuring compliance with required regulations and practices
  • Develop a culture of courage, excellence, equity and joy within the team

What you offer:

  • Registered medical doctor or with solid medical experience in clinical medicine, such as pediatrics/internal Medicine/ID or other allied specialties
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in vaccine-related medical/scientific activities either research, clinical development, epidemiological, and immunization programs in the industry

Other competencies:

  • Proven ability to interact with KOLs and Government Officials dealing with immunization programs/vaccine policy and vaccine recommendations at the highest level in the region
  • Demonstrated ability to create and articulate regional strategies
  • Knowledge of immunization programs in the region and an established network of KOLs within the vaccine field and relationships with established academic institutions
  • Knowledge of the commercial and environmental aspects of the vaccines business
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, and proven track record of delivering high quality within timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and align with wide range of stakeholders, regionally and cross-functionally
