Are you that pivotal player who is able to operate on the verge between our development teams and the beautiful brands we are proud to call our customers? We are looking for a Mobile Engineer who helps our customers become successful using our technology and plays a key role in bringing our Service Team to a new level.

About your role

This is the perfect job for a polyglot junior developer who loves to work with clients and who is eager to work with different programming languages and environments (native, web and backend). Become part of our team of makers and help us shape the future of e-commerce. There is plenty of room for your ideas and initiatives on how to improve our platform. Apply now and join us in our mission to connect people to the brands they love.

Your responsibilities

  • When a new brand joins our platform, it’s your task to write theming code that leads to a state-of-the-art iOS and Android app. Together with our design team you make sure that the correct look and feel is implemented for every customer on our platform. You are responsible for writing and updating merchant specific code as the platform releases new updates. Merchant specific code is mainly written in Swift, Java, and Ruby.
  • Together with our other engineers, you connect customers to new feature that we’ve developed. For instance a complete native checkout, Apple Pay configuration or new shipping methods.
  • You provide ‘tier 2’ technical support. So when - for instance - a bug report comes in, you will help our Support by identifying the cause of the issue. E.g. whether it’s a problem in custom code, platform code, in the app, on our servers or on the customers’s side.
  • Every two weeks you ship new apps and updates to the Appstore and Google Play Store. You’re able to manage this release process end-to-end.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a broad interest and possibly wants to investigate and discover which way he wants to grow, either backend, frontend or for example automation testing. Who enjoys learning new things, is not afraid to experiment and fail. Who loves working in a small team without corporate structures. Who enjoys hanging out with colleagues on the job and perhaps also outside of work. On top of that we are looking for the following skills:

  • You are well organised and able to oversee multiple projects;
  • Preferably you have 1-2 years working experience;
  • Excellent analytical skills are required in this role;
  • We care about details and so should you. Both in code and design;
  • Master at least one coding language. E.g. Swift, Java, Ruby and/or javascript;
  • Basic knowledge of web, iOS and Android;
  • Basic understanding of CSS.

Benefits

  • From our stylish office, a minute from the tracks at Utrecht Centraal Station, to our flexible holidays and monthly team drinks, we do everything to make sure you can work comfortably and balanced at Highstreet.
  • Daily a subsidised fresh and healthy lunch (salads, rolls, hot snacks) with the team
  • Well equipped office with standing desks; unlimited tea, lattes, snacks, sparkling water and the likes
  • Monthly Team drinks
  • Quarterly Team activity
  • Flexible Hours
  • Flexible Holidays
  • Parental Leave (2 weeks paid leave for partners)
  • Pension Plan
