Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Engineering Co-ordinator-(part-time) based in our Glasgow Offices with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

Contribute to delivery of Engineering excellence through:

  • Driving technical assurance.
  • Managing and leading teams.
  • Executing assigned business objectives.
  • Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities.
  • Developing and retaining motivated and competent people.
  • Undertaking the role of process owner.
  • Supporting and supervising the discipline teams.
  • Performance reporting to senior management.

People:

  • Manages performance of direct reports.
  • Ensures competence of Engineering team.
  • Manages succession planning and delivery on behalf of the contract.
  • Set and maintain standards for the development and retention of motivated and competent people.
  • Manages recruitment, selection, transfers and promotion of resources to meet Engineering team requirements.

Process Ownership:

  • Continuous promotion of corporate / client specific procedures.
  • Delivery of technical assurance.
  • Manage / participate incident investigations as required.
  • Subject Matter Expertise:
  • Represent WG ALCS East disciplines.
  • Actively maintain own competence and continuous development.
  • Identify and request functional support to the project / contract as required.
  • Roll out and implementation of learning opportunities from across the business.
  • Conduit for regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments.

General:

  • Deputising for Regional Corporate Engineering Manager / Head of Engineering.
  • Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to respective team.
  • Executing assigned business objectives.
  • Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities.
  • Internal: Manage and direct resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate across the business interfaces.
  • Engage with business / functional community and promote the function including: networking / knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain communication with Corporate Engineering Manager / Head of Engineering.

External:

  • Communicate and co-operate with external stakeholders including: Industry bodies, academia, vendors, client interface (as appropriate and requested), market intelligence, relevant conferences, and business development.
  • As delegated by Corporate Engineering Manager / Head of Engineering.
  • All personnel within the Contract / Project Engineering team.
  • Management of change (people and process).
  • Organisational change.
  • As per technical authority matrix

Skills / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree qualification in relevant subject.

or

HNC or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.

  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent with recognised professional body.
  • Minimum Experience:
  • Demonstrable balance of industrial and management experience at relevant level and position.
