PHYSEE is looking for a Coating Research Intern (minimum of 4 months) who can strengthen our team in the area of particle-based dispersion and coating to functionalize our luminescent phosphors and solution.

By controlling particle dispersion and the film forming physics, you will broaden and deepen our knowledge in wet-coating deposition and develop our electricity-generating windows (PowerWindow+) by a solution-based approach. You will look into transferable knowledge and skills to educate the team and external parties.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Perform phosphor dispersion and wet-coating deposition in a chemical lab.
  • Characterize the phosphor and coatings with various optical tools (phosphorescence spectroscopy, transmission and haze, etc.).
  • Develop industry-fit wet-coating recipes for our PowerWindow+.
  • Document and communicate about the recipe with the team and external parties.
  • Educate the team and external parties about wet-coating chemistry.

Who we’re looking for:

  • You are approaching the end of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical oriented education, such as (but not limited to) chemical engineering, chemistry, and material science.
  • You have experience with polymer science or colloidal chemistry.
  • You understand (or are eager to learn) wet chemistry, wet-coating deposition, luminescence and optical characterization.
  • You are fluent inEnglish (both written and verbally).
  • Experience with coating deposition (eg. dip coating, spin coating, knife coating, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with experimental data processing is a plus.
