Business Development Manager, this is your challenge

Little over five years ago, we started in Europe with a small team of passionate people building Starbucks Moments of Connection where our consumers work, study and play (Starbucks Foodservice/Out of Home). In the past years, we have built sustainable presence in the most important countries and channels by collaborating with industry leaders. The business has matured, and we now sell over 100 million cups per year at over 6.000 locations. Although we have witnessed this growth, we remain to work with the mindset of a start-up, and recently became part of the Nestlé family.

Thus going forward we will continue this journey with even more energy. Therefore, we are looking for a Business Development Manager Nestlé Starbucks Foodservice (BDM) in The Netherlands to support us.

This role contributes to Nestlé Starbucks’ success by developing and maintaining relationships with the internal and external business partners, growing the presence of a lineup of Starbucks OOH Brands and a variety of Coffee Solutions including “We Proudly Serve Starbucks”, “Starbucks On the Go” and “Seattle’s Best Coffee”.

You will need to have a passion for coffee! Furthermore, you should be a strategic thinker with analytical skills, knowledge of the Foodservice/Out of Home (OOH) industry in order to drive the development of our brands by focusing on growth channels like workplace, hotels and CVS (convenience retail). Additionally you will develop market plans, assessing new business partnerships, work with our strategic route to market partners (RTM).

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Represent the Nestlé Starbucks brands and everything they stand for in meetings, presentations and other social settings.
  • Manage and drive development plan in the Netherlands.
  • Develop and achieve strong sales volume, driven by ambitious growth
  • Design and implement the infrastructure needed to enable the business to achieve scale with internal and external Partners
  • Work comfortably with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Program, Finance, Legal, etc.
  • Ownership of Site selection and location review; Judge and qualify proposed site locations for brand appropriateness, business potential and fit with wider Nestlé Starbucks market approach and channel development strategies.
  • Organize and deliver business reviews, QBR’s and Joint Business Planning

The Nestlé Starbucks EMENA team is based across Europe as we have a regional responsibility and scope. Most of the team is based in the UK, the rest divided over the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, France and in the near future Spain. We are considered a standalone entity within the Nestlé Professional EMENA Zone.

Our team is a fully dedicated brand team; focused on growing and accelerating the opportunity across the markets where Nestlé Starbucks is present. The team is responsible for sales, marketing, innovation strategy and execution. With this dedicated and passionate team, we are building on the foundations we laid in the past, but now even more vigorously.

As a business development manager, you will work closely with your commercial colleagues across the countries, the Marketing and Program support teams as well as with the teams in the Nestlé markets. Your strong knowledge of the Dutch Foodservice/OOH market, your ability to turn commercial analysis into concrete actions, connecting personality internal and external teams and entrepreneurial character will add to this exciting environment.

The competencies and skills that we are looking for in this job are; a strategic thinker, hunter & farmer in one, clear communicator, analytical, deep understanding of the coffee industry/market and foodservice/OOH channels in the Netherlands and ability to work in an international multicultural environment.
