Graduate 1:1 Progress Tutor – About the Role:

This is an incredibly interesting and diverse role, whereby you will be providing pastoral support through this Sixth Form College to their students who are taking A Levels and BTEC courses.

You will be supporting and motivating students with their exam preparation and general participation in school, to ensure personal and social development to successfully transition into the next stage of their educations and career.

You will need to liaise and work collaboratively with both subject specific teachers and within cross-curricular activities, ensuring students receive the support they need both inside and outside of the classroom. After being allocated a specific group of students who you will assist and support them through the rest of the year, both academically and with personal, social or emotional difficulties.

This role will require you to monitor the progress and attendance of your cohort students and keep in touch with parents and carers to ensure that everyone is taking a holistic approach to ensure these students achieve their potential.

Graduate 1:1 Progress Tutor – About You:

This role is not subject specific, however a strong academic background is desirable.

In the past, we have found that graduates with a background in sport, psychology and mentoring have seen great success amongst their students and have had some essential practical experience that they have brought to the role. Ideally you will have previous work experience with young people and will have a sparky, confident and adaptable nature.

Also, it is essential that you are a confident communicator, both written and verbal, as you will be required to liaise with students, parents and staff

Lastly, you will be committed to gaining valuable experience prior to further training and be ready to hit the ground running in this new role.
