Job Description: -

An amazing opportunity to assist sales and marketing helping a vibrant and friendly team.

To efficiently undertake basic administration and clerical duties which may include the following duties as directed: -

  • Support the sales team and office staff.
  • To support the team to maintain accurate, timely and legible records.
  • Data input, data extraction, photocopying, faxing and typing duties.
  • To deal with internal and external post and emails on a day to day basis
  • To answer/deal with queries, both face to face and via the telephone, take messages and pass them on the relevant member of staff in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • To provide appropriate office cover as and when required.
  • To maintain filing systems in line with organisations policies and procedures.
  • To be a flexible and support member of the team.
  • To maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Attend and take part in meetings and regular review with your line manager.
  • Throughout the training period the apprentice will be expected to complete all educational and training as required.
  • Overview of office management.

The business administrator is also expected to show initiative, managing priorities and own time, problem-solving skills, decision-making and the potential for people management responsibilities through mentoring or coaching others.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

Previous experience is a strong advantage in a similar role, but above all it is the personality. You will be provided with training and help in every task you are undertaking

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office, in particular Excel
  • Good communication skills
  • Ideally experience of providing excellent customer service

Personal qualities

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and maths at grade 4 (equivalent to a C) or above is desired.

Off-the-job training is defined as learning which is undertaken outside of the normal day-to-day working environment and leads towards the achievement of an apprenticeship. The off-the-job training is directly relevant to the apprenticeship standard

What is included in the 20% off-the-job training?

  • Workshops once a month
  • Study periods at allocated times every week i.e. One full day or two half days or shorter periods over the working week. (This will be discussed with employer, apprentice and coach)
  • Theory - such as lectures, role-playing, online learning, simulation exercises or organisational training.
  • Practical training apprentices wouldn’t usually do during the week – such as shadowing, mentoring, industry visits or competitions.
  • Learning support and time spent writing assignments
