About Us

At DeepMind we've built a unique culture and work environment where long-term ambitious research can flourish. Our special interdisciplinary team combines the best techniques from deep learning, reinforcement learning and systems neuroscience to build general-purpose learning algorithms. We have already made a number of high profile breakthroughs towards building artificial general intelligence and we have all the ingredients in place to make further significant progress over the coming years.

Snapshot

The DeepMind for Google (DMG) team works across DeepMind and Google to apply AI at scale. Our collaborative efforts have reduced the electricity needed for cooling Google's data centres, used WaveNet to create more natural voices for the Google Assistant, created on-device learning systems to optimise Android battery performance, and improved many other Google products. Our work affects billions of people across the planet and we're building a team of diverse backgrounds and skill sets to create ethically responsible AI that serves their interests.

The Role

During your time with us:

  • You will gain experience in the process of applying AI to real world problems.
  • Have support from a host mentor and teammates.
  • Work on an applied engineering and/or applied research project that will feed into one of our collaborations with Google.
  • You will gain exposure to the research that is conducted at DeepMind, attend talks, and have the opportunity to interact with and learn from colleagues across the company.
  • Learn and work with the technology stacks that underpin DeepMind and Google.

About You

We welcome applications from current students at any level (Bachelors, Masters, Doctorate) who have completed at least two years of university study. We expect you to have some computer programming experience together with an interest in AI or machine learning. No prior formal study of these topics is required.

DeepMind welcomes applications from all sections of society. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, disability, age, citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other basis as protected by applicable law. If you have a disability or additional need that requires accommodation, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Artificial intelligence could be one of humanity's most useful inventions. DeepMind aims to build advanced AI to expand our knowledge and find new answers. By solving this one thing, we believe we could help people solve thousands of problems.
